I think they should rotate the quicks; no reason not to let a bowler get jaded if there is another one who can step up.

Since the World Cup appears to be important to most fans, the BCCI should also do something to limit their workloads during the IPL.
Pull them out altogether at the slightest hint of any injury.
Yeah, I can barely stand IPL but this year it's just taking the piss coming just before WC. All main bowlers should sit out. Why give free practice to overseas batsmen against awkward bowlers like Kuldeep, Chahal and Bumrah. Batsmen should go have a hit though, without risking injury of course.

Actually it's very possible our entire squad heads to the WC physically tired and mentally checked out due to the IPL.

I'd keep the top 3 as is and go MSD - Karthik - Jadhav - Pandya too. We don't have much in term of bench strength in case of an injury tho.

cant wait to see kohli/gill combination live. Bumrah will strengthen the attack by another 30%

this team looks totally unbeatable on paper and live.

India have people like Pant, Shaw, Rayudu, KL Rahul, Iyer, and Pandey. That's pretty insane tbh.

They look strong but don't oversell it. They're not even the strongest looking ODI side, let alone unbeatable.

They struggled to put away a severely undermanned Aus side like a week ago, with nearly a full strength side

England are easily the team to beat in ODIs at this stage

I think they're both dead-even in terms of results since the last World Cup (except that India won in SA, but lost at home and I think it was vice versa for England). England smash more runs, also get bowled out cheaply in the process every now and again. India have a superior bowling attack with a lot of variety. Both beat each other 2-1 in a 3-match series at home.

It's kind of a shame that India and England haven't played enough ODIs against each other in this cycle, both teams played a lot more against others.

From what I've seen:
If India play like they played - the bowling in particular - against Australia, they are well behind England.
The full strength Australian team was clobbered by England; and the team without the cheats were humiliated.

If they can raise their game as they did against New Zealand, they are as strong as England.
To be on par with England, I think the Indian bowling has to be a lot better than that of England.

In theory but you're looking at guys who are either unproven, out of form, out of favour, or who haven't had inspiring runs in the middle order.

Not that bad I suppose but is it enough to win a WC?

India are looking **** hot! The fact they have four months to fine tune a couple of aspects (number 4 position and possibly a back up quick) is really good. Possibly one of Khaleel, Kaul or Siraj may go the WC so it may we wise to test a few combinations

Sharma, Dhawan, Virat, MS, Jadhav, Karthik, Pandya, Bhuvi, Shami, Kuldeep, Bumrah

Rayudu, Gill/Iyer/Pandey, Jadeja and Chahal as the other options. Obviously if the pitch dictates bring in Chahal for either Bhuvi/Shami

KulCha should play together against England. I feel medium pacers will be easy prey for English batsmen.

IPL might be a big pain in the ass this year. Will be infuriating if any of Rohit, Kohli, Bumrah and Kuldeep get injured.

Like this team. Against England I would play Chahal in the place of Bhuvi

Meanwhile, back over in the minnows' camp, who should NZ play in tomorrow's dead rubber match? Stead seems hell-bent on playing Munro in the forlorn hope that he'll eventually push his average up towards an astronomical 26. No doubt Munro will score a meaningless quick-fire 60 or 70 in the next couple of games to secure his undeserved place in our world cup squad, and he may even add to his grand total of 2 (yes, feckin' 2) overs bowled so far in this series. Joy.

Anywho, this is my side for tomorrow:

Guptill
Latham
Williamson
Taylor
Nicholls
Neesham
Astle
Santa
Henry
Boult
Fergusson

Yeah, Black Caps in all sorts of shambles right now. Scary considering WC is just 4 months away. Shouldn't have played SL. Gives you that "feel good" factor after playing them and lands you in a bubble. LOL.
They need Southee back in form desperately. Nicholls and Munro are no good. Guptill, Latham one big innings away.

I’d open with Nicholls due to Latham’s terrible average when opening and keeping, and his good form at 5. Also Nicholls did great vs Sri Lanka when he had a bit longer to form an innings, so it might suit him.

Apart from that, I’m on board with that team!

Yeah, I'd be happy with that. Either of them opening is likely to make more of a contribution than the incumbent.

Nicholls did well batting 5. I wonder if we have anything to gain by playing Latham at 6, but probably not.
