No surprise that smali "I like to make jokes about Chris Gayle's ****" shah's posting on this topic is of the usual low standard.
you mean you are not trying to bait people again?

oh come on, since when have you ever done anything except posting ****?

Good attempt at whataboutery, but I'm not an apologist for people who make racist remarks. Anyway, this exchange has reminded me of why conversing with you is something I'm happier not doing. Good day.

Don’t really see anything incorrect with what smali posted.

I think everyone agrees this was racist and deserves punishment. People are just trying to give the comment context, they shouldn’t be mistaken for being apologists.

It's an education thing. In Australia we had to learn not to call a Pakistani a P*** even though, by and large, it was just a nickname with no malice attached. It was not imbued with the racism of an Englishman using the same word. But modern ways is that something is *ist so long as the target or anyone of the rest of the world thinks so. The Pakistan board should pander to the media and ban him, and another two players for a year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this mean you think using racist terms is fine if there's no malice behind it? That's the vibes I'm getting from this post.

Not at all. I'm saying I'm relating you guys who said Kali is not necessarily terribly bad, but shouldn't be used anymore. I said in our case we had to refrain even though we were ignorant, implying they should too, because... Respect the target rather than defend yourself.
