Oh don’t get me wrong Bracewell was good/promising once upon a time, but that feels like an age ago now. I’m with you though, he’s nothing more then bits n pieces these days, no way good enough with either bat or ball.

I was just having a laugh because Smithy basically implied last game Bracewell was as good as any option we currently had.

All g, I was just airing my thoughts on Bracewell. One feels he's still dining out on his Hobart antics, probably as well as his name. It's a shame, because he really did promise a lot.

There’s just no rhyme nor reason to the bowling selection in this match. It’s almost like they’re scared doing something different might succeed, so they’d have to change their World Cup plan, which has been set in stone for years.

Not much love for Dougie around here, but I'm disappointed he hasn't been given at least one game. Why bother even selecting him in the squad to start with?

Ferguson and Milne in the same side would be great, but it would require the selectors to give Lockie a crack with the new pill, which they seem weirdly averse to given that's what he does in domestix.
Can't remember who but someone on radio comms in the first ODI was talking about Ferguson swinging the new ball in domestic one-dayers. Would be worth a crack.

Milne's ER in ODIs is 5.26, which for me makes the Larsen comparison bit of a myth. Still, I'm happy to have him in the mix., brings at least as much to the table as Southee does.
Sadly he's turned into more of a Nathan McCullum, especially if he's not bowling death overs.

No Doug Bracewell again, Ian Smith about to go murder someone.
Although Bracewell should never have made the squad, not giving him a game is annoying as it means his supporters (all one of them) will keep banging on about it. I would have given him this match and hoped for a dose of reality.

He’s got the best post-2015 WC average of our bowlers ... I don’t see him playing a role at the WC, but he at least deserved a game if they were going to select him in the squad.
Tastle/Kuggs/Bennett all have better averages tbf. Whhhere is Bennnnnnnnnnnnnett

He bowls mostly at the death and obviously ER is a fair bit different from Larsen's era

As Flem said he's pretty good insurance against flukey hacks

Yeah even in the last 10 years it's shifted a lot, a good economy rate in ODIs is now below 6. A superb one is below 5.
