Pakistan well behind in the game even with that wicket. The game's up for them unless they can keep SA under 325 or thereabouts.

Poor Markram what a way to go

If we honest we only have Natalie Germanos and Kass Naidoo who are employed by SABC ? I like both of them. Super Sport could easily buy their contract out.
Not a fan of Kass Naidoo, for me she has a bit of Firdose Moonda irritation factor to her

Two doyens of SA cricket comms there. Trevor Quirk and Robin Jackman. Remember them from SABC days in the 90s.
Miss the clinking of the gin glasses in the background

Markram got a shocker but aside from that it looks a good batting surface. No real swing or seam on offer and South Africa should be looking to bat only once here. Though it is concerning that there is variable bounce already.

From the way Markram got out, it won't be easy batting last on this wicket. Pakistan have a chance if they can restrict South Africa to 300 or so in the first innings.

These early morning Newlands pitches are pretty tough... that came back a long way. Damn wanted another good innings from Amla.

Honestly can't remember cracks playing a part at the start of a test match at Newlands before. Becoming more and more highveldish.

The curator from Newlands is off to the highveld right?

Another chance for de Bruyn to make some hard runs....

It starting to make sense how Kallis refused to watch the game before he batted.... did not want to know anything about how the pitch was playing.

Yup. After 11 years. CSA Groundsman of year.

I know Newlands tried to get your boy Adrian Carter before Evan Flint those years back but he turned it down. Not sure who Newlands are going to get.

Haha. He does make interesting points, but just chill about De Bruyn's methods for the time being. Abbas is a gun
