Kohli's thinking is to never expose the Indian bowlers to any possible injury while batting.Wouldn't have declared. Bat forever.
I don't think it would be worth a look. You'd need to make more runs than India anyway, declaring behind (or slightly ahead even) just means you'll have to make more in the 4th innings when batting's harder.Well, it's inventive thinking and could've been worth a look in if India had made only about 475-500. Not so much as of now.
That opener, Owen Rock averaged 94 from his 6 FC games. Ended his career abruptly to become a doctor. Interesting. Fred should write an article about himGrasping at straws now but here's a FC game at the SCG where NSW scored 614 in the first innings to lose:
NSW v Victoria 1924-25
Funny how times change. Maybe if we paid sportsmen more back then we'd never have cured polioThat opener, Owen Rock averaged 94 from his 6 FC games. Ended his career abruptly to become a doctor. Interesting. Fred should write an article about him
I think his idea is solely a punt to move the game forward. If they commit to it, they still have to make 423, declare, and hope to bowl India out for 100. None of which is happening on this pitch, but what else can they do from the backseat? 423 is a more realistic target to aim at anyway.I don't think it would be worth a look. I mean the only vaguely vaguely realistic way Australia can win this match is if they are still batting in the first innings at lunch on day 5I think his idea is solely a punt to move the game forward. How does that make you more likely to win the game though?I think his idea is solely a punt to move the game forward. This match had 405 8 ball overs balled, which translate to 540 6 ball overs. Quite a gun over rate. Seems to be the norm back then though.Grasping at straws now but here's a FC game at the SCG where NSW scored 614 in the first innings to lose:

I guess it might make India a little confused as to how to bat in the second innings and do something silly in the process. How does that make you more likely to win the game though?
Hope that India collapses like at the MCG and leaves them 300 odd to chase on the final day?How does that make you more likely to win the game though?
