The Thunder did their best to let the Scorchers get away with that one. Terrible last few overs.

Anyone also watching on fox able to explain wtf is going on with what seems like 7 different commentators happening at once and the random swapping between them.

Watching the Renegades struggle against O’Connor is like watching the lower grades of Warehouse, but without the banter. ****ing dire.

How much of a weapon is Rashid Khan. Just a guaranteed 4rpo for your team whenever you need it

For certain games Fox just takes the 7 coverage with occasional interjections during short breaks from a studio team.

I've got Big Bash fatigue already. Got bored last night about 8 overs in and went and read a book. That's how bad it is. And to think the tournament's only like a third of the way through.

The problem with the big bash is that it's on all the time. It would be much better if the games were spaced out more over a longer period. I'd love for a big bash game as early as October worth some shield and one day games in between.

It ain't gonna happen but I pretty much only watch the first ten overs of the chase these days. The tests are much more satisfying.

The tests and big bash is like having a beautiful roast lamb with gravy and roast potatoes for dinner and then following it with an apple for dessert. Yeah the apple is sweet but it's disappointing compared to the main course.

Of course it doesn't help that all batsmen around the country are sucking so hard.

I have been thinking this too actually. With all the games on in one block I almost feel as though I have to watch them because if I don't then there won't be any for 11 months. 2 or 3 games a week would be ideal but it's just not practical.

I don’t think it’d be the worst idea to have the season split in two, with the first 8/9 rounds played intermittently and then the last 5/6+finals played in a bit of a block.

Might make it logistically more difficult with regards to overseas players - you could go for a three format player for the first part of the season but you’d have to get over the snobbery of Shield cricket with regards to them and also solve the problem of States with two big bash teams.

Early games would matter because you’d need to win them to be in the hunt when it matters but you’d still have your big summer block where T20 is the spotlight. You’d forgo some cash by not having it all in the holidays but you’d have a better balance to the season.

It's really the overseas players that mess with the whole thing. I'd be happy to sacrifice them all (except Rashid Khan - can we get him a citizenship?) For a more balanced season. Reduce the number of teams to 6, have two play on Friday/Saturday/Sunday for three months and play one day matches during the week. We have from October to March, which is a 5 month period so early season we could run this cycle on a two week basis and play a shield match in between. We could wind up the Big Bash season in mid February and follow it up with the final shield rounds and shield final.

Doing this we could slot in a few shield games between test matches. It would also build anticipation between big bash games. Right now I can't follow it properly because I have so much else on. If the bbl wasn't clashing with the tests and wasn't on Every night I'd certainly watch it more.

Rashid Khan, Nabi, Buttler & Archer are worthwhile, the rest don't seem to add much

it was cool when we had all the West Indians but I guess they've got better things to do now/aren't good anymore
