A mix of the pitch being so stacked in favour of the seamers that he was about as likely to take a wicket as Yasir, Sarfraz wanting to try something different and the game being close to gone anyway with little to gain from bowling the quicks into the ground, I guess. It was still pretty odd given South Africa still had about 70 to get, especially since he only bowled one over at the time. The second spell was much less weird given the game was well and truly gone by then, but that first over was odd.

He does look a lot more decent as a medium pacer than you'd expect from someone with five wickets in 110 First Class games though, I'll give him that. He'll probably get another bowl in the second Test assuming he gets selected again and it's not another really low scorer.

Like you were saying. A bit disappointing from him.

He has ability but sometimes players just can't put it together at the highest level. Always was going to be a massive summer for him.

I tend to think you get that first test 100 and you start to feel you belong. Want to see how it goes for him because you can't afford it to be similar to Temba after his first test 100.

Test cricket is the ultimate. Batting for your country is what I have always wanted to do. Sure, I'm taking blows to the body but these are the games where the cricketing memories last forever. I'm sure the team appreciate what I do up front.
