*Official* Sri Lanka Tour of New Zealand 2018/19

Hicheal Michael

U19 Captain
I think that's probably the first all-run 4 I've ever seen in NZ. #hagleysobig
Williamson and Latham ran 4 last test - over 36.6

Perera to Williamson, 4 runs, rocks back and cracks this short delivery into the gap at extra cover, they run four, which on a not-so-large ground just shows how Lakmal was a tad slow in completing the mop-up operation.

Latham's got another double lined up here if he can avoid any concentration lapses. Sri Lanka are totally checked out.

First Class Debutant
As much as I'd hope that Henry gets in ahead of Southee, you just know that Southee will be picked in the first XI for the WC because of English conditions. In saying that, I'd like to see this as our first XI for the WC

Guptill
Munro
Williamson (c)
Taylor
Latham (wk)
Neesham
CdG
Santner
Henry
Ferguson
Boult

With Southee, Sodhi, Nicholls, Seifert as the sideliners to round out the 15 man squad.

this world cup is tricky actually. last time we knew who our batsmen would be and it was a case of eeny meeny miney mo between several world class bowlers. boult was an inspired pick that howsie got to beat us all with haha

honestly that squad was insane. no other team in the world bar australia could contemplate leaving out 200+ wickets at 26, or even 50 odd at a silly little average but we did that with kyle mills, matt henry and mitch m.

with this team im dubious of munro, the death order and feel our bowling is too reliant on lovely trenty and santa

to test the sensitivities of other nations because im bored, i would venture to say kyle mills would have been the best fast bowler for any team not called nz, sa or oz

It's frustrating that Milne has gone back to being sticky-tape man this season. No sign of him in any form of cricket since early November.

if we were feeling really brave, we'd blood rachin this summer and see how he goes. if he can open the batting under pressure against sl, india, bangers then that could open up the idea of going to the world cup with the ability to field 4 quicks, 2 spinners and 6 proper bowlers overall

unfortunately it's probably 12 months too soon

Feel for Mills. NZ's best ODI bowler for a decade, but never got to feature in a significant way at a World Cup
2003 - a year too soon
2007 - missed the tournament injured
2011 - broke down injured halfway through the group phase
2015 - Boult and Southee came through and didn't play a game.
