Damn KW finds ways of getting himself out prior to a hundred while looking seemingly in total control far more so than Smith and Kohli (which is probably why they're better), although at least his conversion isn't as horrible as the Rooter.
Kohli looks in control half the damn time. But it's a matter of him getting reprieve in the slips either in the form of an absence of a slip, slip dropping a dolly or the ball dropping short.

KW finds weird ways to get dismissed when not edging to the keeper. He's particularly good at getting himself strangled down the leg-side.

ATG spell from Boult there. Cleaning out the lower order is something NZ and quite a few other sides haven't always done that easily. SL really paying the price for their top order not applying themselves and learning from NZ's first innings. Still, this series has continuously thrown up the unexpected so waiting to see how tomorrow unfolds, though NZ should be looking at a lead of 425-450 at least.

Can't believe I missed the EPIC spell from Boult. Legend.

And also majorly pissed off about Kane throwing it away, ton was there for the taking tbh. But anyway, with Ross out there (and Latham can really boost his avg with another ton), reckon 400+ lead should be fast enough.

Not asking too much today, just 300 runs to set a chase of 600 while still allowing 8 overs of the new ball at the end of the day plz.

Looking at the pitch this morning I don't think we'll need anything like that. There's still enough there, Sri Lanka just bowled arse yesterday. Borderline have enough already.

Well, that's the first ball of the day that I've watched. I'll take the blame for that (if it's not overturned).

Jeez, just saw Nicholls first innings dismissal for the first time. He really does look like a tailender for his first half hour at the crease.

I know, but there are three whole days to play so might as well have a little fun.

Ugh Ian Smith still shilling for Doug Bracewell, and as a CdG substitute as well. Cumming - in deference to Smith's seniority - gently pushing back against the lunacy of that idea, but Smitteh pompously declaring, "To answer your question, yes I think you can rely on Bracewell as a number 7 batsman", effectively ruling the case closed.

One of the rare occasions where I'd actually like Rigor in the combox to fire back with "On the basis of what?!"
Had to laugh just now listening to the commentators talking about the strength in the greater NZ squad, listing the players you'd expect like Young, Henry, Santner etc, and then Smithy gets in there at the end with
'Doug Bracewell.... *pause*... all proven performers at this level'.

Obsessional.

Standard of commentating is so rubbish. Smith and Doull purring over Latham's stats, but don't even think to stop and ask who he's been scoring those runs against.
