Pakistan Tour of South Africa 2018/19

Amlas confidence is shot I think, he has never been the same since he got the captaincy, way back when. Don't know why it affected him so much, but obviously did. Struggling with batting and keeps making mistakes and getting out in silly ways. I really don't know what to do because I really don't think we can afford to drop his experience with our current batting woes.
Its definitely work the risk of going to someone new if he is just there for his experience. But I think Amla knows that.

With him playing, I think batting 3 is a massive no-no that is for sure.

I`m thinking of the coming WC as well; can't see how he stays as opener if we drop him between now and then. Dropping him from the Test team is the end of his career across all formats in likelihood. I am all for putting together a new batting lineup after the WC.

Rabada really looking out of sorts here. It'd be such an embarassment if Imam scores a 50+ off of them.

Only Steyn's looked threatening so far. What ever happened? I mean Shaheen and Amir were bowling heaps better.

How is either of these tools supposed to succeed to any extent anywhere outside SA? How'd Imam get 30 even

Amla has been poor in the slips for a long time now but they keep persevering.
Though this has been a great start from Pak. There are definitely runs to be had here and anything over 200 will test the ordinary South African batting lineup.

If they can muster up another 200 odd, I'd say Pak the favorites. SA has got such absurdly fragile batting order.

Dale's bowling fine, but seems to bowl alot of scarmbled seam deliveries. Is that deliberate or wrist not really behind the ball?

Think it's deliberate, particularly to left handers. Also trying to get some variable bounce with the ball going soft.

Why Maharaj has not come on yet I don't understand. He has been one of our stalwart bowlers the last 18 months, ties up an end, makes breakthroughs... need to bring him on sooner rather than later.
