I don't think there is a lack of talent in SA with regards to batting, but there is an issue with regards to mental strength amongst youngsters at the moment...
life is too easy in SA clearly. Gotta get some of those rural kids batting for their dinners like they do in India

Also might help to actually produce a flat pitch once in a while for domestic cricket so batsmen can learn what it feels like to bat long and build a big innings.

We South Africans really should stop molly-coddling our sportsman..... send them out into the cape flats for military training, get some discipline into them.

Big Vern would've made a world of difference here. With the bat that is. Scored valuable runs in SL. He's good for rearguard efforts.

It's also important to keep Pakistan seamers going as you feel Yasir Shah has to come into the attack soon. He could strike but runs could also come.

Also if KG scores runs here, the boys from south of Jukskei (+Bavuma, Qdk) will tell the boys from north that they need to buck up on their home patch ! :D

It's so rare to have a commentator who actually understands how difficult it is to be a Test umpire, instead of one who simply shits on them without ever having had the most basic experience in the role.

Good stuff.

Also how good are South African pitches? Quick outfields, value for your shot and a lot in it for the bowlers. Take some ****ing notes Australia.

I quite like watching batsmen dead bat for days at a strike rate of 35 while a bowling side slowly loses their will to live

It's like the inverse of a Nagpur pitch

Yeah there has been good bowling on this conducive pitch but also horrid batting more so. Has been the case all year.
