*Official* Sri Lanka Tour of New Zealand 2018/19

Boulteh you hero. A five wicket haul in 11 balls - can't be too many quicker than that in test history. And 6 in 15 balls. Crazy stuff.

Bat properly this time around please guys.

Boult's back, baby.

An incredible spell of top class swing bowling.

Sri Lanka making the Indian and Pakistani tails look good in comparison. Mathews knowing how Williamson felt being at the other end when Yasir destroyed us in Dubai last month

Far as I can tell that WAS the fastest ever 5fer. Kinda annoys me our dopey commentators don’t pick up on that kind of stuff.

There's something about left-arm inswing when it gets on a roll - the mighty James Franklin did this a few times in domestic cricket, with four or five lbws against hapless RHBs standing right in front, knowing it's going to swing big but still underestimating how big and either failing to play a shot or missing the ball by a foot.

Now looks like a very nice day for batting - sun out and it's warming up just like the plan said. Sri Lanka could've been making hay the last half hour and through the middle session if Boult hadn't ruined them. Instead we get to do that.

Good work from the openers not to give Sri Lanka a sniff. Raval a bit suspect on the pull put otherwise they're both very controlled and there's now not a lot of movement with the ball.

Kumara strikes me as a dude who could be second to vaas if he swung it. Good pace, good channel but no movement. Charmander has bowled puss this morning. He rekt NZ out of nowhere in an innings last tour tho

I'd still like to know if this was a record.

As per Cricinfo in September 2016

The fewest balls required to take five wickets in a Test match is 12, by Jacques Kallis in the course of his 5 for 21 for South Africa against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom in October 2002. That just bettered a burst of 5 for 0 in 13 balls by Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis, also against Bangladesh, while taking 6 for 55 in Dhaka the previous season. Jim Laker's 9 for 37 in the first innings of the Ashes Test at Old Trafford in 1956 (which he finished with a record 19 for 90), also included a spell of 5 for 0 in 13 balls. The fastest five-for from the start of a bowling spell in a Test is 19 balls, set by Australia's Ernie Toshack against India in Brisbane in 1947-48, and equalled by Stuart Broad for England against Australia at Trent Bridge in 2015.
