***Official*** English Football Season 2018-19

Jordan Pickford has dug a big old hole for himself with the Alisson comment and today's performance. That Kane second goal was quality though in fairness. Second edit: Pochettino (spelling?) is equally quality as a bloke, he can be hilarious.
Don't see how this is not the cyclical England No. 1 keeper becoming s*** happening all over again.

Aside from that I wanna thank Aston Villa's El Mohammady for teeing up Kemar Roofe so nicely for Leeds United's last minute winner. That Villa defense is crap, even though the other two goals were really well worked.

Aside from that with Bielsa in charge and Thorpe Arch continuing to release talent like Peacock-Farrell and Jack Clarke I want to suggest that Leeds United's Glory days are not far away.

Cardiff are very poor and lets not forget Jose smashed the similarly average Fulham not to long ago.

However yeah was good to see players clearly relishing attacking soccer.

Negatives is the presence of Phil Jones, but hopefully he is gone when Smalling comes back.

Also no clue what they do with Lukaku when he comes back.
Martial's goal was beautiful.

I'm pretty sure City don't need to leave Manchester to play the rest of the top 6 for the rest of the season.

I think Liverpool have 2 visits to Manchester, but play all the London clubs at home in the 2nd part of the season.

In hindsight, all the people moaning about three weeks ago about how uncompetitive City had made the Premier League look pretty silly...

The glorious British football festive season kicks off by going over 36 hours without a post in the football thread. It's just synonymous with this time of year uno.

I still don't think Liverpool will win (in my lifetime I'm tempted to say). Something quirky always happens with Liverpool, perhaps this season it will be that Spurs (who have overtaken City) win their first Premier League.

Best football day of the year for me. We always seem to win Boxing Day, today no exception.

NYD on the other hand, always a stinker for us

Dunno about anyone else, but Christmas Eve and Christmas Day always feel like utter deadzones when it comes to football.

The worst part about it is the fans being proved right. Twitter and Blue Moon (myself included, I guess) have been on and on about these two positions since last January window when we didn't take the neccesary steps to cover LB and DM. LB you can sort of forgive because Delph was really fantastic last season but it couldn't, and hasn't, lasted. Delph put out the worst performance I can remember in a City shirt last night. At least the worst effort since the takeover. Was at fault for almost every chance and then capped it by being sent off, Richard Dunne-level stuff.
