I'd be surprised if we get any action today at all... It's not raining heavily but spitting and the light is pretty bad for any play to commence. Pretty much grey low cloud and no hint of sun even peeking through. I guess that's test match done and dusted. Well played Sri Lanka, that was an amazing come back. I wouldn't have bet 1 dollar if someone said to me Sri Lanka will survive the day yesterday let alone bat without losing a wicket.

Classic murky drizzly day. The only interest this morning might be a few nose-to-tails and angry drivers on that road next to the Basin road.

Now that Australia has stopped making roads (MCG, pending) and pitches in all of India, UAE, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are much more result-oriented than they have been, I think a strong case could be made that NZ's pitches are the roadiest in the world. Anyone have an opposing case to make? Sure, it's not easy for batting on the first morning with a green tinge if the Kookaburra decides to swing, but after that most of our (international) pitches are just flat flat flat.

They often aren’t that hard to bat on on the first day, either (unless you’re England).
Definitely not as bad as people expect when they look totally green, anyway.

Gutted - would've gone to no 2 in the rankings with a 2-0 win, but pleased for SL (along with SA as my favourite non-NZ team).
It would've been worse if we'd had them 7 or 8 down last night.
At least (apart from 1 crazy 40 mins in the 2nd test vs Yasir) we've been the best batting side in the world for what has been a tough year for test batsmen.
