Oh boy, tuning in for the first time since stumps on day 1

I see Kumara has a few wickets - did he look dangerous or have the wickets all been jammy?

Interestingly, it's not often I can see a list like that these days and have not heard of one of the players near the top of it, but Terry Jarvis had me beat.
Jarvis and Turner had that monster opening stand against the West Indies. If I am reading that table right, it looks like it took the Windies 9 hours (540 minutes) of bowling before they took their first wicket!

I just don't see the point of this.
I figure they want to leave Sri Lanka in the field for as long as possible. I predict they will declare with an hour of play left in the day to give the bowlers two bites with a red cherry.

This would seem a good tactic if we only had 2 good bowlers with the new cherry, but with Colin de Wobblehomme as 3rd seamer, I don't see the point of this.

We're currently reducing our winning chance.

There will be no play on day 5 according to the metservice 3 day rain forecast. Will hit at 10am Wednesday.

I figured as much and it's daft. There's probably only 110 overs left in the match and we're 250 ahead. Time to get them in.

This is very similar to Bryan Young’s double hundy against Sri Lanka at the Basin ... from memory a triple was calling, but potential rain on the fifth day led to a declaration? Then it never rained. So ... hopefully it doesn’t rain on Wednesday either, because I think wickets will be hard to find on this track.

Yeah really, let's declare now. Latham doesn't really need his 250 does he?

While Sri Lanka are a mile behind the match, they haven't let NZ score as quickly as they'd have liked today.

Have to stay out there as long as possible. Sri Lanka still have time to chase these runs to win. Latham has it all on his shoulders to bat out the draw here so he’s right to turn down the single.

Must be no wi-fi in the refurbished pavllion.

All the coaches playing solitaire on those laptops. Laptops in the open position for sponsorship purposes only.
