Yeah the casually mentioning of six sixes as if it is as common as a forward defensive shot is irritating.

Although at least they arent screaming 'phatted' or 'goneski' all the time

Really dislike the way Maharaj is bowling. So flat and slingy. I realise it is an adaptation to the format, just hope it doesn't affect his test rhythm.

Klaasen the 2nd batsmen in our WC 15 left out in the MSL. Does it mean nothing or does it mean something ?

In both sides desperately trying to lose the game... eventually the Durban Heat managed to succeed.

Why are ESPNCricinfo's speed descriptors so slapdash? See Siboto is medium, but bowls mostly in low to mid 130's, which is fast-medium. It feels like those speeds get assigned arbitrarily at under-19 level and just stay forever...

One thing I gather from this tournament is that SA have the best local talent available currently in cricket but they are not utilized properly. Most of them would make almost all FM teams squad.

Good old Rassie.

Out of all the new batsmen tried this summer did he take his chance the most ?

Obviously not a massive fan but where does he stand currently for a world cup chance ?

Not going to the WC, not with Reeza's form. Unless Miller or Klaasens make way, which I can't see happening.

I don't know why Gayle bothers anymore.... I`m sorry he is just not worth an overseas spot or money.

That's the thing. Another top-order player. As you know I'm not a massive fan, just trying to see what the talking points are for a very weak SA limited overs squad. Trying to see where we can pressurise incumbents.

Amla
Markram
Klaasen
Miller
Behardien
Phehlukwayo
Morris
Pretorius

all not done much to nail down spots. Been poor to average in MSL.

That #7 spot is really interesting. Can we pick a guy who normally plays in the top order now we going 70/30 batsman ?

I`m not going to worry about Amla, he is going hope he has a last swansong. Markram has been acceptable without being fantastic. Miller and Klaasens have just been disappointing, particular considering those two have the biggest question marks. Behardien and Pretorius are out of it. Morris has been his norma erratic self, and Andile has been disappointing again but who else? Are we going 70/30 batsmen or is that only while Ngidi is injured?

Amla's form has been for a little longer than is ideal. I've backed him through it but it's been a while now. Legend - yes. Can we carry - no. I think question marks have to be put there. Test team I think he can eeek out some final runs without pressure of looking to score. Agree with the rest.

There was a dismissal the other night of Markram where he just gave his wicket away walking past a spinner. It was almost like he knew what was going to happen. It really concerned me & he doesn't look in the best head space & I am worried about his discipline in shot selection at the moment. I think Faf wanted him and Shamsi in his Paarl Rocks team on purpose because he knows they can be match winners for SA & he wanted to be in their space so hopefully they can get there.

I think Faf said they can't afford to be 30/3 in the WC and have an unreliable #7 runs contributor. So 70/30 batsman is looking like their favoured modus operandi. Behardien/Klaasen probably favourites due to the ones in the squad.
