*Official* Pakistan v New Zealand in the UAE 2018

Think I've done this previously but lining up for my slice of humble pie on Nicholls. Very impressive operator, has very obvious flaws in his technique but huge mental strength and the ability to forget what's gone before and concentrate on the next ball coming down at him. All his 3 hundreds have been against quality opposition.

Nicholls now NZ's second best bat? Perhaps too soon to say, but it's definitely an open question and I never would've predicted that 2 years ago.

We should've just opened with Colin this series, he would've scored a lot more runs.

New Zealand’s are objectively better than 5-10 years ago
By virtue of playing minnows more often though?

I accept the point, though would argue McCullum was a better opener than Latham or Raval. You knew he could go big against strong attacks - I don't get that impression with those 2.

Nicholls on fiya this morning.

It disproportionately annoys me that we won't quite get 85 overs with five overs of the new ball to try bowl Pakistan out. The timing almost works out but not quite.

So, Faith in spin. faith in spin.

Bloody hell, 29 wickets in a three-test series is a fair effort. Well done Yasir.
