Anyway, that's the innings ****ed. Ball did tail in and bounce a little more than expected but ugg.

So ah, three month avatar bet that De Grandhomme won't score more than 142 either innings this match?
this has to work, right

Crap, Kane deserved a century there but the lack of ruthlessness will cost NZ in all probability. Watling can't afford to block anymore now, too much fragility at the other end.

Watling should shield the tail, face every ball for the rest of the day and collect one per over please.

Lol, Yasir bowls a short one and the oddest looking six from CDG.

i was just about to say watling shouldn't shield him and that you can't get out lbw if you hit it for six

good lord colin, you're following the logic.

Hope that's a little confidence builder for CdG so he can do some damage (before holing out to a fielder in the deep).

Getting undone by reverse swing and first-rate legspin is understandable, gifting away wickets on the other hand..

Appears to have been a typical Southee dismissal, just CBF when faced with challenging conditions/bowling.

That's being generous. Southees batting has been YOLO since day 1, at every age group all the way up to his Test debut when it actually came off.

Big fan of Watling but as mentioned in one of the earlier posts, the apparent decline in his ability to rotate the strike makes things difficult when batting with the tail (which he ends up doing most of the time).
