TestMatch

Dammit, I missed WI bat. I thought they had no chance after Kohli's inning.

Can someone describe what happened at the end? How did this end up a tie? How did Hope and Hetmeyer look?

unfortunately didn't see this match as Sky aren't covering it on their "sky cricket" channel - evidently matches from 10 years ago are better :@ having seen the scorecard, you gotta feel for the WI that they got this close and couldn't quite get over the line..

I wouldn't mind seeing another tied game. Another 300+ run game. Another Kohli century. Another Hetmyer-caning-the-Indian-bowlers. Another Kuldeep googly...

Kohli's ODI scores this year: 112, 46*, 160*, 75, 36, 129*, 75, 45, 71, 140 & 157*

Not a single failure unless you consider 36 as a failure. Unbelievable. Smith in tests and Kohli in ODIs have broken the "Law of Averages".

Rayudu would be good if he had a SR of 77 on account of trying to just rotate the strike with the big hitters at the other end, or trying to stabilise the innings to prevent a collapse, but he doesn't really do either of those. The pattern of our innings has been the Top 3 laying a ridiculously good platform, followed by Rayudu/MSD sucking the momentum out of the innings until the final 10, where Jadhav/Pandya/Pandey/Jadeja/whoever attempts to smack around 7/8 RPO to ensure we end decently. Having Kohli batting in the back 10 is so key to us ending the innings strong, and if we don't get that we're usually below par in the death.

There is zilch reason for Rayudu to play given Dhoni is an existential reality for the side.

Looking forward to seeing how our batsmen fare against India's top 2 pacers. If they can still do well against them as well I will know we are onto something. I'd still like to see Fabian Allen get a chance in place of Bishoo, but I think they'll keep the same team.

Curious to see a raw stats list of ODI peaks (like they've done with tests - 55 tests). Not sure what a good number for ODIs would be to take as a 'peak'. The 55 was done to match Bradman, don't think there's a ODI equivalent so you could just go '2x Bradman's tests' or approx 100?

Anyone have a list or a way to make/access one?
Runs, average, strike rate, centuries, fifties.

Look up best ever ICC rankings for a close approximation. As I said in another thread, Kohli's peak rating in ODIs is only 6th among batsmen which is surprising.
