Why aren't Tasmania playing McDermott? Had a massive jlt
Because the Tasmanian side definitely needs both Milenko and Rogers.

I guess they also really want Webster's spin bowling. It's an odd omission for sure.

I wasn't expecting to see Peter George back in Queensland colours but I guess without Stanlake, Neser, Doggett or Wildermuth available it makes sense.

Oh yeah, so now I want to get mad about Jake Hancock being left out.

The point about Rogers and Milenko still stands though

Rogers was like the best bowler in the Shield last year. Would be pretty harsh to leave him out. Not sure about Milenko but maybe Tas genuinely don't have any better batsmen. I don't know much about Hancock but a Shield average of 8 from 5 matches doesn't really inspire much confidence.

It just seems like they're there for the same lite-all-rounder role but with inverted strengths in their skills. But as you say, Rogers was excellent last season and Milenko was just fine and dandy too, hacking and slashing 30s like no one else.

Tasmania ought to have thrown some prayers, promises and money at Maddinson after the delisting fiasco.

Rogers is there as a bowler. He can bat a bit but he'd get picked regardless IMO. Milenko is there as an allround package but I think it's okay for teams to have one of those, especially teams whose keeper would be selected on batting alone.

Basically was going to say this. If one of your best 3-4 bowlers just happens to be a decent batsman, and one of your best 6-7 batsmen just happens to be a decent bowler it's a bit harsh to criticise them for "picking too many all-rounders"

Tassie 9 dec for 435 in Futures League vs NSW Metro, who had them 8/240 odd until Haze and Cummins were apparently told to stop bowling. Can Do with 80 odd and Charlie Rose 102*

NSW Metro just started, with #Bertmentum opening with Gibson.

Gone for 19. Tres disappointment. You can see the 17 people in attendance making a beeline for the gates aws.

Every year I quixotically hope that Kookaburra has decided to make a ball that actually swings an acceptable amount, and every year I'm disappointed.
