ICC investigation into corruption in Sri Lanka

Pretty shocking on the face of it. Do local Sri Lankans know what's gone on?

He has refused to hand over his phone to ICC anti corruption officials. Given that he has managed his way to PornHub, can understand about his worries. However, this needs to be investigated, and the perpetrators done and dusted.

Sanath's name has been linked to these sorts of things on and off. But they've mostly been rumors. This times around the rumors were strong that Sanath was involved.

So far it seems all he is guilty of is not handing over his phones when demanded. Which is pretty incriminating. If he's got nothing to hide he should just come clean but the fact that he hasn't makes it look very bad.

I also read a report by Nasser Hussain saying it's just the tip of the iceberg and that he'd been in many commentary boxes with SL players and there are lots of rumours of other bigger names.

Aravinda , Dilshan have all been linked to fixing at some point or the other. But nothing was ever proven as far as I know. I suspect these names might come up again..

I agree. If any of those guys turn out to be linked with any of this it would really crush me too. And I think SL public would really fall out of favor with their team if this were to occur.

Honestly I don't think it's incriminating to not want to hand over your phone in cases where you're not required to do so legally. I've seen forensics work on peoples phones and they sift through literally every single thing. It's also not as professional as you would hope, they talk and laugh about the contents pretty openly amongst each other. Migara actually made a good point about the *** tapes, that's got to be embarrassing af.

He's also a politician is he not? I'm sure he has some unrelated incriminating stuff on his phone.

The guys a complete dickhead anyways so whatever.

I doubt Sanath is involved in anything related to fixing. He's probably done this to protect his personal life. That being said, you have to realize that if you're THE Sanath Jayasuriya/Chairman of Selectors you have to be willing to hand in your phone any time if you want to be in that job. It's part of the rules and regulations.

I am not too sure about the former two. They are the ones who introduced Charlie Austin to Lankan players. Either they are clean or they are god fathers of this.

Dilshan. But sanga heard the entire exchange and did nothing to stop it.
