I mean, we laugh at the lollapses, but the Australian batsmen are better at batting time than the Indian ones. They saved the Ranchi and Melbourne games last year and have put up a good show here too. Indian batsmen tend to fold under 2nd innings pressure.

Ranchi was the first in ages though.

Melbourne was only the 3rd innings which probably helped. Plus that was probably the deadest wicket of all-time.

Shame that Paine suffered such a serious injury as he could have played 50-100 tests

Very talented & technically correct

Not sure if there's a way of vetting this. but according to Cricinfo the last time a team batted more than 50 overs to save a test in Asia was 1964. I think once one of these two go the rest will go quickly.

Excellent knock by khawaja. Hope he sees Australia home.

Haha that's definitely false. There've been plenty. Australia themselves did it just last year against India at ranchi.

has anyone brought up the channel 9 (mostly mark teylor and ian chappell related) meme about how you need to play your natural game in these circumstances of seeing out a draw and you’re more likely to lose your wicket defending?

Great knock from Khwaja this, in the strictest sense of the word. So refreshing and good to see a quality stonewalling effort.

Looking like a draw at this point. Pakistan should've won but Australia deserve it. Not a dull draw at all.
