TBH while Burns's dropping wasn't all that fair and he should be ahead of Labuschagne and Head at least, I wouldn't expect him to score too many runs here. Though this wicket is flatter than India/SL so it's hard to say.

Renshaw, Maxwell though? Would be scoring runs here.

Both Langer and Paine said he was not picked due to lack of time in the middle. Which is strange to say about a guy with over 1000 fc runs this year.

If politics guides your selection process you better damn well have a great crop of batsmen to pick from if you don't want embarrassment.

There are three guys more deserving of a batting spot than either Labaschagne or Head and only one of them is even on this tour.

Shows a lot about how tough Test cricket is. 2 good days and one excellent session....then one bad session and you're staring at the abyss of a massive defeat. (obviously the strength differences between the sides and the toss hasn't helped either)

Finch aside (and Finch shouldn't have fallen into that trap) those were terrible shots.

I think Head could be OK, and I think there's upside there, but he still averages less than the three I mentioned. He also has basically no experience in these conditions.
