Also, did Ryan Harris and Rabada miss the countdown entirely? Rabada hasn't had the longest career but I assumed his quality points must be immense.

Only 79 points separates no.51 to no.100. So I would consider Caddick, McDermott, and Gillespie to be on about the same tier. The next 25 places on the list will be separated by 78 points.

I could easily see Larwood not making it at all. Poor test average and his longevity works against him too. People who rate Larwood as an ATG don't base it on his test stats that's for sure

McDermott and Swann are probably the rankings I've been most delighted to see so far.

Daniel Vettori is going to completely miss out it seems. If yes, will he be the only one to miss out despite taking 300+ test wickets?

Broad's 8/15 is the highest rated bowling performance ever.
This doesn't actually surprise me. Australia had on paper a very decent batting lineup at the time and had just come off a relatively easy period of cricket. The batting lineup was pretty decent too:

Rogers
Warner
Smith
Marsh
Clarke
Voges
Nevill
Johnson
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon

At the time Voges was coming off a run of red hot form, Rogers was a very good opener, Smith is an ATG, Clarke was very close to being an ATG, Warner has always been a very good opener statistically. Only Nevill and Marsh had mediocre CVs in the top 7. Johnson and Starc can both hold a bat.

To run through such a side with 8/15 was ridiculous and the peak of Broad's ability.

Actually I was wrong about the timing of Voges - it was before his ridiculous run.

WAG broad. So happy to see Englishmen doing well. 8/15, GOAT!

I see that Chandra must've held the record for best twin figures in a match before O'Keefe's effort in India last year. Quite remarkable. That whole series always sounded very interesting to me, but there's so little of the offical cricket during the WSC years available.
Jim Laker took 19 in a match though.

Wes Hall (West Indies) 728

7/69 vs. England at Kingston 1960 (15.97)
6/49 vs. India at Kingston 1962 (15.48)
5/20 vs. India at Port of Spain 1962 (17.18)

Non-Home Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 26.31 47.15 4.16
Quality Opposition Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 29.83 51.68 3.91

Wes Hall was right up there with Holding, Roberts, Garner, et al in the first half of his career, before fading quite badly in his latter half.

First half (1958-1962): 21.79 41.59 5.33
Second half (1963-1969): 31.57 54.42 3.29

Also loved playing against a relatively weak Indian side.

I will try to post videos as well as photos for the top 50. In the above video, you can see that Wes Hall certainly looks the part.

Sorry, I've just gotta say it again, the average adjustment is really unfair on players in the late-fifties-sixties compared to the 2000s.

Hmm at least 7 bowlers in the top 50?? Not bad. Too bad we (wi) probably won't have any more for who knows how long...
