I just hope he gets to play enough against the top few sides to prove himself. It'd be a shame if debates raged on CricketWeb in the year 2075 over him because he only played two games against Australia or something.
61 wickets at 13 vs the top 10 sides. 8 wickets at 21 vs associates.

Against Ireland, he averaged 16 before they became a test side, and then averaged 12 after, taking about the same number of wickets either side.

Scientifically we can extrapolate from this trend and estimate he'll average about 7 runs per wicket against Australia.

Shanto did the oh, so predictable "dot, dot, dot, wild slog and out" against Mujeeb that Bangladeshi batsmen specialize in. Too bad that the Afghans don't have a Masrefee to generously bowl 10 overs to help them out.

Oh, and useless donkey Liton not only failed again, he made sure to use up the only review as well. What a player!

Time for these two batsmen to put on 20 runs in the next 10 overs, eventually push the required rate above 8 and then get out slogging to Rashid. Never fails!

 It's funny, because it's so predictable. Although they've impressively managed to do even worse then I expected them to do.

I don't make bold statements like this often, but Nabi and Naib are the best pair of international allrounders whose names are anagrams of each other in the world.

No one could have foreseen that they would prod ineffectually at the second string Afghan bowlers, let the required rate blow up and fold as soon as Rashid came on. Literally no one saw this coming.

Good job playing out a maiden over in the 26th over, Mahmadullah! What's the plan, bat out the 50 overs and somehow crawl to 150? Can't take the minnow mentality out of the team.

Wow! Consecutive maidens. Really going for that Gavaskar 36* of 174 now. Another bold plan from Captain cool Masrafe.

Athar's conclusion from this debacle? Bangladesh needed to be even more defensive at the start, so that they would have "Wickets in hand™". Typical 1980's minnow mentality apparently still shared by the team. Funny, how Afghanistan didn't need "Wickets in hand™" in order to score over 95 runs in 9 overs with their tail enders. Funny too, how it doens't occur to him that an even better strategy would be to attack from the start to put Afghanistan under pressure and to especially target the lesser Afghan bowlers. Exactly the point made now by Sangakara. The gulf between someone who actually thinks about their cricket and this idiot's sub-moronic utterances couldn't be greater.

Masrafee not even bothering with some "defiant slogs". Just blocking every ball. Actually he did the trademark "dot, dot, dot, wild slog and out" and got an impressive 0 of 10. At least he already has excuse lined of for tomorrows thrashing to India: "We had to play two matches in two day's , waaaaah!"

I wasn't wrong when I said that they would make Sri Lanka look competent. Athar comes up with more excuses, no Tamim, Mushfi and Mustafizur. Apparently Bangladesh need to be at full strength at all time's just to avoid a 150 run rodgering to a team that weren't even at associate level 10 years ago. So Piss weak.

The ICC should take away this shower's test and ODI status. Have them compete at their level with Nepal and co. Masrafe could stretch out his career by a further five years then, bowling himself whenever he feels like, with the idiot fan's crediting his "leadership" for hard fought wins over Papua New Guinea.

Must suck for BD. You have been the perennial whipping boys for years and just when some newbies enter the arena and you entertain the idea of finally having some whipping action of your own, this happens.
