Unbelievable that our new mascot, River, was just beaten by Charlie the Fox.

Saw Abell score a ton in the 50 over comp a couple of years ago and commented at the time that he played spin very well. Looked good again today too. Better suited to batting in the middle order as he does now in the championship for somerset - . Averaging 40 in the championship this year and captaining Somerset at 24 - mostly likely an impressive individual. Wouldn't mind seeing him with the lions this winter giving his skill against spin and leadership qualities.

Salt and Rawlins both still very hit or miss (Rawlins in particular), but looking forward to seeing how they develop under Gillespie. Both have loads of potential. Salt reminds me of a less fidgety Jason Roy - quick hands and sets up very similarly. Rawlins loads of talent but still extremely raw (kinda slow progress imo).

Going back to Archer it does feel stupid that he has a British passport and an English dad and he can't play for England right now.

That Phil Salt run out was a combination of the best of cricket's athleticism and the worst of mindlessness in the game.

I've seen Jofra Archer in person twice this season, in a twenty20 and a championship match lasting three-days, and I'm yet to see the hype. Maybe he just doesn't perform very well 'oop north but he produced the grand total of a 10 ball pair and (BBM) 3 for 113! 1 for 40 in the Twenty20 also (10.00 eco). Nice smooth run-up though, almost Holding-esque, but I didn't see this pace everybody discusses. Ollie Stone impressed me more, at Edgbaston a few days earlier.

I was out in Australia for the ashes and his big bash performances were all the locals were talking about. Personally I think he’s a better player in the first class game, but the class is undeniable.

Archer's doing his best to prove you right here. Disastrous over thus far. Edit: it led to the winning runs.

Tough one to take. Still in the running for promotion at least I guess.

and for play to Worcestershire of course, worthy winners.
Yeah, going from 17 needed off 12 to losing in a few balls is a bit brutal. Could be worse though- some of us support Lancashire haha.
