You sure Mccarthy is leaving?

I heard some Irish lads are sticking round.
Their will be a court case next year on eligibility of Irish representing Ireland and playing county cricket.
I'd gather the lgoic is Mccarthy is a fringe state players, and would therefore choose Ireland.

Paul Striling signed a 4 year contract at Middlesex.Gather he will hope the court decision goes his way.

What about Gary WIlson hr is firsts Derby and Irish t20 captain.
Sadly yes. It was announced at Tuesday's forum. Emmerson has also tweeted about it: https://twitter.com/Martycricket/status/1039896524392685568

As I said, if Lancs go down Bunny and Keats would've bought exactly one extra year of division one cricket by moving! There is often more an element of, from the frying pan into the fire.

In Durham news, Collingwood retires and Barry McCarthy will sadly leave because of the whole Ireland/test status thingy.
Well I'd imagine Onions decision was made more around job security rather than being in div 1. The plus 30s tend to go where the money and the longer contracts are rather than the division.
Jennings move paid off straight away when he got back in the England side. Lancs may well have stayed up if Jennings was around for the season.

Bunny left because Durham wouldn't give him a two year contract. They wanted him on a year-by-year deal like Collingwood. They then signed, ehh, Nathan Rimmington who is the exact same age as Bunny on a two year contract!

Thanks S.Kennedy :).
Rooting for Ireland in the court case as it will be a deeply weakened international Irish side.
Changes come in in 2019.

In fairness I bet Rimmington is on the same money in 2 years as bunny would have been in 1.

Being a Durham fan from way back, noticed Bunny's propensiy to break down the last 5 years.Rimmington has a more stable body.

I'll explain one more think about Onions. He only played at extreme bookends of the 2017 season as he was injured early on. The real truth is more complicated. Yes, he was injured but he was dropped into the seconds for ages! The injury was in reality brief. I remember a tweet by him saying he was gutted to have not been selected for a first team match (if memory serves, v Derbyshire at Chesterfield which would have been Julyish!).

Di Venuto, Rocky, Borthwick - can I just pretend Durham won the championship?
If you like.

Not that we've seen much of Borthwick lately. I don't know whether's injured or out of favour. if the latter, I wonder if he'll be playing elsewhere next season.

There was a rumour on the bleachers that Borthwick is homesick. There was another rumour that Surrey grabbed him by offering him private tuition with Shane Warne. Credit these rumours how you see fit?

Yes he has a bandage or cast or something on his hand on that celebration photo.

Last season he basically under performed and got dropped into the seconds.
