Why are Stanlake and Richardson missing from the four day squad? Are they considered to be limited overs specialists?

There is still a lot of doubt as to whether Stanlake can withstand the workload of First Class cricket, CA are deliberately being very cautious with him. Been well documented here in the Australian media.

As for Richardson, I have absolutely no idea.

Thanks.
Stanlake was down on pace (still bowled very well) when he played earlier, but Richardson was fast; very fast.

Khawaja simply has to play in the UAE. It'd be a crime to not pick him based on performance.

Labaschagne could be a Smokey for the number 6 spot. Seems to score difficult runs but never downhill ski.

If Labuschagne gets another 50 he can say his tour spot is safe,2 50's so far.Thats good when u consider he wasn't in the squad.I'd rest Khawjah 2nd game.Read that the spinner wasn't attacking playing a more containment role, not something you think you would see of an Indian spinner.BTW back now, thanks for the updates.Damn phone internet.

I rate Marnus, have for a while, seems to be pretty good at adapting to various match situations and altering his game accordingly. In an ideal world I would have preferred him to have a properly big Shield season first but he can't be too far away from international selection now.

Head has been quality at Shield level over the last 3 seasons, his FC record is still dragged down by being thrown into a fairly dire Redbacks side as a teenager.

So Aus no.3 (4?) spinner is running riot in India, what a time to be alive, thanks DJT for putting us in an alternate universe

I don't think many people on this forum think Agar is a better bowler than Holland, to be fair. I'm not even convinced the Aus selectors do -- Agar's got being younger, a much better batsman and a much better fielder on his side.

I controversially don't even think O'Keefe is better than Holland, but this is not a mainstream opinion. :p

For a long time I didn't rate Holland at all, but he has well and truly stepped up over the last couple of seasons. Looked out of his depth in Sri Lanka, but it's worth considering he was called up at the last minute so he was short of rhythm.

We'd probably see Burns and Head there. I'm tempted to pull a NUFAN and pick 7 batsmen + Paine
Yeah thought Burns might be there myself since he wasn’t even picked on this A tour, not sure I’d go with him myself tho, looked pretty lost against spin in Sri Lanka a couple of years ago
