India definitely have at least a 30% chance chasing anything close to ~250ish, if things get closer to 300 then 10% probably.

The fact that Curran has the third most runs in the entire series so far despite the fact that he missed a game and has batted #8 every time is so awesome.

Tbh, I reckon if KL Rahul doesn't get bowled by an inswinger, he could be very handy against spin. Remember his consecutive fifties on the spin friendly surfaces in the India-Australia series?

Sky Sports mentioned it on Comms, the gut reaction from all commentators were "wait what, really?"

So probably worth double checking
If my statsguruing is correct, then India has four over 200 and one of 200 out of 16 successful chases overseas (in their entire history).

5/200 vs NZ Dunedin '68
4/406 vs WI Port of Spain '76
3/264 vs SL Kandy '01
6/233 vs Aus Adelaide '03
5/285 vs SL Columbo '10

The only thing I can think is that they're counting matches outside of the subcontinent. India has 12 successful chases outside there and three over 200.

I think if by 'overseas' they mean outside Asia, it might be true.

But it might also be a useless stat since limiting it to wins in 3-4 countries (where India never win a lot anyway) where India bat last and also play badly enough to have to chase 200+ but also bat well enough to chase it down is a very very specific set of parameters and you're never going to have more than a handful of instances.

Appears to be 4 in 71 (including Asia) i think, unless i've done something wrong. From here:

ESPNcricinfo Statsguru - India - Test matches - Team analysis

Twice in Sri Lanka, once in Australia, and once in West Indies.

EDIT: But it's 3 in 60 chasing 200+ outside Asia (they chased exactly 200 in New Zealand)

How about this one - no team has won chasing over 200 in India since the great Viv chased down 276 in 1987, none other than India of course.

In general, all teams have been pretty poor at chasing a moderate target in the fourth innings.
Usually things look good for a while; then a couple of wickets fall in quick succession, and it ends up in a whimper.

It'll be interesting to see if Anderson gets into trouble for running on the wicket. After Sharma was warned (twice) Sky did a little montage which suggested that Anderson was doing it all the time (in fact Holding said he'd been doing it for years with barely a hint of a warning). Maybe there's something about bowling around the wicket that makes it easier for the umpire to see/means it is more noticeable.
