Finally? England's lower order has outperformed India in England over 3 tours, including this one.Best innings all series from a team contribution pov. English lower middle order finally doing what India were afraid of.
Was talking about this series only. And while they have outperformed India's lower order, hard as that is, my point was they hadn't done so in a decisive manner. Until now. Finally? England's lower order has outperformed India in England over 3 tours, including this one.
Our hide in India was saved in part because Jadeja & Jayant were consistently outbatting the opposition tail, not to mention Jadeja was gladiatorial even on roads with the ball.
Was he also banking on Pandya getting 5 for nothing in this test? It's pretty clear that with Kohli at the helm, India will always be one step forward two steps back. We had by far the best all conditions team, after the retirement of ABDV & (almost) Steyn. Yet we can't win consistently away, let alone winning a series. Kohli &/or Shastri have to go, this team will not progress if they don't leave Indian alone!I wonder if Kohli's strategy was that Ashwin was going at 2 rpo and he didn't want to take any risks so he'll just keep bowling Ashwin and wait for England to self-combust as opposed to actively seek wickets and leak runs fast like in the first innings after 80/6.
Nah it's over. Kohli is going to be captain for a long time. There is literally no one else in the team who has a secure spot. Everyone looks to Kohli for leading with the bat and for decision making. He's just bad at the latter when it comes to selection is all.Was he also banking on Pandya getting 5 for nothing in this test? Sorry, who's delusional enough to think we have a chance? Lightning can strike thrice at a place, but I don't see this India team, under Kohli, chasing anything above 150 without a boatload of luck.Unless the lead gets up to around 350 or so, surely people still think India has a shot....
He had to persist with Ashwin though, given the conditions. Probably could have given Shami another spell. Was he also banking on Pandya getting 5 for nothing in this test? All that hoopla in the first test, with a dozen variations, got to his head. Also empty vessels make too much noise -> applies perfectly to him!Ashwin should be dropped from home tests too as a punishment for filth he bowled today. His has started bowling like he makes websites.
Haha, not really.India is not out of it, yet. Should be a good fight tomorrow.
