Yes. That's why I'm saying umpires should call more wides. It happens too often when bowlers intentionally bowl them a mile outside off to keep a batsman off strike. Should be called, but never is.

They become stricter on wides if they believe it is deliberate rather than a loose ball.... normally give a warning to the bowler first though.
