Actually solidly laying some bat to it helps stop it swinging.It feels like the Duke ball never really stops swinging. It's kind of nice, but the theory of "see off the early movement and then cash in later" doesn't really hold, does it?

It does not because it stops swinging but because you learn to adapt better and start getting used to the movement. That's pretty much been Pakistan's mantra in England in both the their last 2 tours. Take time early on, get beaten, edged, dropped but somehow survive and then they start playing shots against the same balls that they were poking earlier.It feels like the Duke ball never really stops swinging.
