You get the impression that if the first few wickets go cheaply, the middle order are told not to hang around and make everyone have to come back on Day 5.

Obviously I woke up today confident we'll knock off the runs by tea-time tomorrow. Then I pondered our batting line-up and realised that we'll be lucky to still be batting at tea-time today. I think The Oval will see the more interesting cricket today.
Lunch.... ! Cook first ball.

Fighting back from adversity in Test matches is very difficult. How many teams do show resilience these days? SA were the last team who could do that (when De Villiers-Amla-Du Plessis help them grind out a few blockathon draws).
SA managed to resist a long time at Delhi in 2015. Also almost won chasing 450 at joburg before giving up. Nz drew from 90-5 trailing by 300. SL won after they were 90-4 trailing by 100 odd at galle. Australia were 270-7 in reply to India's 450 at brisbane and ended up winning.

My point is if you're playing against India, you've always got a chance.

Got it this time. Hard to disagree really.
I feel the days of watching a five day test has passed as T20 cricket is where the money is and too many players take too many risks batting too aggressively. I used to love watching the bowlers pin a batsman down down and then that batsman defend and pick his moment... This is where test match cricket wins it for me the steady build up and then bang raise the game and put on some runs... England are two up in a five test series and they will just turn up and say **** it, next week we'll improve. If only they batted so well today making the last days unmissable they would sell tickets.

You only remember all the times India ****ed up (which are admittedly, a lot).

India also won from a dire situation against Australia in Bangalore last year.

Bye Keaton.

The most annoying thing about that is that Surrey will almost certainly have to cope without Rory Burns during the remaining two tests.

You guys are comfortably ahead. After this round there is only 4 rounds left ? Roy or Jacks probably comes in.

Other teams need to get 2 wins on you guys.
