Probably out;, still and all, a brave decision by Aleem Dar. He is not going to be a popular man.

India have managed to keep Root pretty much under control so far this series. No doubt he'll get a 200 next time now I've said this.

Trouble is, while we all know about the problem off 2d cameras foreshortening the view, the question of whether the ball ever really ‘bounces’ off the fingers as part of a fair catch hasn’t really been answered. One might think it would be a bit painful to the catcher!

Commentators always claim the slow-motion replay just makes the catch look bad. That the full-time replay is more reliable because of the 'naked eye'. Bulls**t imo. I know it enacts doubt because of how close they can be but I don't personally see how the ball is not touching the ground at any point? The only fingers that can possibly be under the ball are the ones behind it which are too small to stop any of the ball hitting the ground in any case.

Hardik's come a long way as a bowler. Hits 140 regularly and is tight-ish if nothing else.

If England had much the better of the conditions in the last test, India have had the better of them, at least till now in this test; even Pandya is moving the ball.
Should have been dead and buried after the toss was lost, if you ask me.

I don’t get the umpires call thing. If the ball is clipping the stumps, it would have gotten the batsman out if he had left the ball. Therefore, should the Stokes ball not have been given out?

So Pants keeping is pretty ****ing ugly. He seems to get into wrong positions and then chases the ball with his hands, which means he's rarely taking it under his eyes. Foot movement is indecisive and premature.

He's clearly good at somehow catching the ****ing thing though which is always handy for a keeper..

How was he to Ashwin?

Ashwin hasn’t bowled.
