I saw Fuller Pitch had posted in this thread and expected his comment to be about which All Black to play 100 tests was the least good.

would Vettori hold the record for most 100s scored from 8-11? He got 4 batting @ 8 and 1 batting @ 9, which surprised me as I always thought his tons came at 6 after he proved he could bat. But he only hit one there(and only one batting in the top 7)
Yes - Kamran Akmal is the only other 8-11 batsmen with 3 100s.

If Vettori was an Australian he would have been like most other offies here - a few games here and there, most off them in India and no real career of note. He'd have been behind Warne and McGill for his entire career while he was a good enough bowler and he'd never have forced his way into the team as a batsman.
no one cares

Warne might not have made it past Ranji if he was Indian. Completely speculative and pointless mode of thinking.

If you're going to talk about which player is the worst to play 100 tests then surely it's worth talking about whether players would have been picked in other teams.

Warne would easily have been in any Indian side had he been born there. Indians and Tendulkar in particular practiced as specifically and deliberately as they could to counter his bowling. You don't do that against a bowler you don't fear is a threat.

Talking about whether Vettori would have been anywhere near the Australian (or English or Sri Lankan) side at the time is a worthwhile discussion in the context of this thread.

Pretty sure if Warne was born in India he wouldn't have gotten close to a Ranji team - he's probably have picked up mud wrestling and stuck with that instead.

I could also see him transitioning into Bollywood midway through his career, chasing those mega-rupees.

Come on not this **** again. It's impossible to tell how a player would have developed growing up and learning the game in another country. What you say about Warne could easily be said about Vettori, if he was Aussie he might have developed a completely different game, who knows.

I could also see him transitioning into Bollywood midway through his career, chasing those mega-rupees.
and chasing the bobs and vagene

Warne would have been picked for India if he'd magically been mare available for India. Vettori wouldn't have gotten near a number of other sides in his day.

lol as if Warne would have broken through. Kumble was already established by the time Warne made his debut (and was thoroughly mediocre for his first few tours). No way he makes the starting XI, he'd be getting smacked around in Ranji cricket instead.

Warne would easily have been a part of an Indian duo/ trio with Kumble/ Harbhajan. And he'd be the premier touring spinner as well. Even if he was born and bred in the exact same conditions.

Imagine Warne with curry instead of tins of baked beans. He wouldn't have been the same bowler. Also blokes like Ganguly would've refused to have him on the same team

if we're going to do some nationalistic weeing on the boundary rope i'll remind the audience both xavier doherty and michael beer have played for australia, and during vettori's captaincy nathan hauritz was australia's main spinner.
Vettori once scored 140 on a 5th day Colombo pitch vs Murali and Herath. I'd like to see an Australian do that
worth quoting again

warne still probably the better spinner tho, and could probably crack the current australian team as a batsman in sri lanka tbf
