Good dinner at Lotus at Barrangaroo last night. Soft shell crab was sensational, Moreton Bay bug sauce was excellent but the bugs themselves a bit over cooked. Highlight was the dumplings.

I've really taken a liking to the cheese and meat pies they sell here in aldis. For about $3.50, I can get a pack of 4 pies and that's 4 breakfasts covered cheap if you store them in the freezer. So good.

Wait, you're eating meat pies for breakfast?

This is akin to the pictures of Malcolm Turnbull eating a pie with a knife and fork on the hustings last week, a decision which doubtless cost him the by-elections.

Yeah, they are great. 400 calories - meat, cheese and carbs. I don't eat lunch these days since I got sick of being fat and sleepy after a midday meal one day so even if I ate two pies for breakfast, I wouldn't gain any weight considering the walking that I do almost everyday for work. I feel lighter and faster every week these days.

Glad you found something that works for you, but honestly a cheap frozen reheated meat pie every day for breakfast sounds awful.

I'd just scramble some eggs and eat it with some toast. Could even just buy some decent Parmesan or Mozzarella or something and grate it on top of it. Some cherry tomatoes on the side.

Shri, this is good advice from *****, who has spent the last 25 years perfecting and only eating scrambled eggs, in order to demonstrate his culinary prowess to the rest of the planet.

Breakfast is a bull**** meal anyway, unless you're eating out on a Sunday or something. I'd rather spend the extra time sleeping.

All I have is a protein shake every morning as soon as I get up, takes 13 seconds from start of making it to finishing it.

Fair enough.

How good is an egg and bacon roll on those mornings when you're hung over though?

Yes, I have indeed been cooking since I left the womb, and you all should accordingly here my words on food and cuisine as gospel

Breakfast is a myth and Protein Shakes don't substitute for food, but are better than frozen meat pies.

Get this ****, wants to make out he knows everything about food, calls certain meals and the subtleties of wine tasting myths then tells us making boiled rice and scrambled eggs for decades is a virtue and a sign of gastronomic prowess.

Get in the bin.

Very disappointed this thread has descended into a typical ***** "look at me" discussion. get back to talking about cricket. this isn't a slippy thread.
