And we really needed a half that tour too!
Haha I think it just got to the point where blokes didn't really want to play and were going to just pull out with "injuries", so you went and picked someone who actually really did want to play and would still add to the side.

NZ don't need Kohli with a top 4 of Guptill, Munro, KW and Taylor. What they need a solution to Munro not scoring runs but bowling out CDG's overs. And NZ need someone to bat 7, (esp with Latham 5, Nicholls 6 and CDG 7). Santner has only just started looking good at 8 after playing since 2015. I'd be favouring the All Rounder myself. But I like Bairstow's -Munro-esque approach to hitting, just his success is so much higher as he far more shots to play to gaps. Munro's longon to mid wicket to square approach is just so known by all cricketers these days. NZ's problem is compounded by CDG and Munro almost be mutually dependent on each other to play.
Every side ever needs Kohli in the top 4. Maybe someone else would be a better pick though for balance. I'm making pretty sweeping generalisations and I I don't know much about the specifics of any LO teams.

What about for ODI?

Raina, Dhoni, Pandya at 5, 6 and 7...

With BK and Bumrah plus a plethora of spinners you still want Rabada?
Don't really care about ODIs tbh. I'd swap Dhoni for Buttler, not even joking. If not, I'd probably go for Starc.

I don't. I think it was a stupid popularity call because Price was with the Warriors. The Aussie player was doing the highest honour of doing the "Dally Messenger" role, and was being handsomely paid but more so honoured. Joey wanted the gig, but SBW ended his career earlier in the year. Same with Lockyer. Price didn't deserve the role, nor was a big forward even needed.

Not sure why that would be regarded as a joke. It's clearly a problem spot for India at the moment, so you've gone and picked the best possible replacement.

Starc makes more sense IMO but if I was playing this game from an Indian perspective and could have two spots, I'd go Dhoni for Buttler too.

Two spots is too easy, its like BBL then, 1 spot makes people think more (especially with NZ's dual Colin problems). Try and save the hijack for 2 spots tomorrow when it loses traction ;)

It'd be regarded as a joke because of the whole Miyagi-*****-Dhoni-Buttler thing.

Buttlr>>>>>>>>>>>Dhoni right now.

The Tiger King
I'd have Kohli in all formats, we'll be very good then. I think the bowling is starting to look decent again but with a stronger batting we can do very well.

Sarfraz needs to go. Drops too many, doesn't make many runs, and isn't a terrific test captain either. I'll take all of them except Mushfiq over him.

Rabada in tests and Butler in ODIs sounds reasonable.

Starc will immensely strengthen the limited over team too.

Bahseph

International Debutant
T20I-Rashid Khan. ODI-Virat. Test-I'd love Kane at four in any condition tbh. Can go big more often than Root if I'm correct and doesn't look as vulnerable against the moving ball like Kohli.

BSM

U19 Cricketer
Rabada or Ashwin for tests to make our bowling more threatening overseas.

Starc for odis and t20s.

To be fair though I'd probably take anyone from any side just to get Mark Wood out of the starting XI

The normal awards that everyone else has
I'd take Williamson for Australia in tests. Our bowling is good when fully fit, but we still need a #3 who can bat outside Australia.

In ODIs I'd take Kohli.
