One day it will be revealed what happened to Harry Kane about halfway through this tournament
He was rushed back from injury against Juve in spring and he’s been far worse ever since. The Tunisia/Panama goals are a red herring imo.

Maybe. It wasn't just the lack of goals though.
Yeah I agree. He’s hardly making any tackles or sprints either. Lost the ability to shift the ball and get a shot away. More conservative with possession and his runs and does everything slightly slower. It’s been that way since the injury, but he scraped together the goals somehow so it wasn’t widely noticed, except by Spurs fans and the stats guys.

In an ideal world, Kane would be taking a month off to recuperate and recharge his batteries. Obviously that's not going to happen, but even a couple of weeks away from the game would be good.

I think there’s a good chance he never gets back to being as good as he was. Wouldn’t be the first striker to peak at 24, rush back from injury for a World Cup then never reach his pre-injury level. Luckily his pre-injury level was so obscenely good that he would probably still have a good career. Bit like Shearer.

That would be awful. But at the same time, the Spurs-related schadenfreude would be hilarious.
