It certainly can in this era. All teams are stacked with power now. Gone are the days of teams picking test and first class players in limited overs cricket. Associates are very strong now compared to what they used to be, believe in themselves more, more depth, more skill etc. Scotland got robbed in WC qualification by rain and the stupid WC rules limiting the number of teams. You need to show the associates more respect, they are very good now. Australia are looking like associates in this series. England's batting is the greatest ever, their bowling is ok at best however.
