Yeah, but we historically sent our lowly north west so your argument on geographical reasons fails :P

But my Dad is from Kent and English public schools, my mum was a stickler for grammar as an English nerd, and I was well educated. I am used to being corrected and some of it stuck.

Please - you probably see Javed Miandad's home LBW record as one to be broken if you were an elite ICC umpire involved in India games.

Pitches inline, no bat, struck inline, smashing into middle half way up and 'not out' is the decision from Umpire *****. Not since Dick French has anyone seen umpiring of this caliber.

It's because you have lawyers for parents.

Which is why I find it strange you didn't properly accept it when I corrected you the other day, with my usual acuity.

What is? The fact I am well educated. Nah - that's scholarships and Mum.

Or my Dad being from Kent and English public schools - nothing to do with his career.

My Mum being a stickler for grammar - nothing to do with her career - she just loved reading and was naturally good with grammar (maybe as a result thereof - who knows, but she she sure loved correcting mine. I miss it tbh).

Either way - you have totally missed causality (or causation if you prefer) in this post.

I did notice that. I wonder what prompted the change? I don't recall anyone implying Pakistani umpiring had changed, in fact the most controversial series was that one against England in 87 wasn't it?
