No idea lol. Maybe they feel they desperately can't afford for him to be injured in England. 5 Tests in 40 odd days is a pretty unforgiving schedule, and that's not even including the LO games.

Resting from LO games is surely not an option, because that's where he'll make all his runs of the tour.

He won't miss the LO games, because the thinktank feels that these are appropriate replacements for actual warm up FC matches.

Weird captaincy though. Why isn't he bringing spin on for Rahane? Mujeeb in particular has barely bowled since Dhawan departed.
