Exciting?

He's a 31yo bowler of licorice all sorts at moderate pace with a fc average of nearly 37

If he's one of the most exciting bowlers in the country, we're absolutely ****ed

Who cares about his fc average

He's not playing Tests

More of a right handed James Faulkner. Except better, and less inclined to get blind and drive into parked vehicles.

That we know of anyway.

It was Tye who hit #Bertmentum in the futures league last year when he was on 98. Got concussion and couldn’t bat again in the match. Had made about 280 for the series without being dismissed before that.

Probably fair enough then nsw didn’t give him a contract and preferred kids who are still at school with heir heads down a toilet.

I don’t see how thats a reasonable basis to exclude your best performing players.

If you want evidence as to whether or not I'm a nsw selector then you're going to have create your own thread on the topic and I'll respond if I feel so inclined

It would make sense for TJB as a Queenslander to be a NSW selector and pick the worst team possible. Because screw NSW.

I wonder what Phil Jaques thinks, starting off as NSW coach with a squad which was picked before he was appointed, and which was picked with the idea they'd be mud for at least 2-3 years before they develop into anything decent.

FC skill levels are required in ODIs more so than 20 over stuff because the batsman has time to build an innings

Tye is barely FC standard and won’t get a game for the Warriors next season unless injuries/selectors intervene

I can see him having a fruitful & lucrative career in T20s but expecting him to a meaningful impact on the ODI scene for any length of time is really pushing it

he averages 21 in List A cricket and averages 21 in ODI cricket. it seems reasonable to believe he'll have a decent ODI career as long as he doesn't get dropped because he's too slow. These averages are, of course, a step above McKay and Faulkner who got to enjoy a lengthy spell in the team

Well he has started fantistically well and his death in odi (and t20) skills seem to be in the top echelon in the world, I'm not betting against him just yet. Maybe he will fail like some flash in the pan, but the world cup is a year away, and his flash is still pretty new.

Have you been watching ODIs in the last 3 years? FC specific skills are getting increasingly irrelevant for LO games.
