lol how long ago do you think they played? It's not like they haven't played since the 90s, ODI cricket wasn't that much different 4-5 years ago when they were regulars
Yeah, but in 2015 England were playing like the other teams played in 90s. So it is a 25 year leap for them after all.

Anderson was really good those last few years of ODI cricket he played. Probably could still do a good job with the new ball.

I thought there was a possibility that they'd bring him back in with around a year to go to the world cup. It's not going to happen now. - The lack of alternatives for the test team, the injuries (currently resting for 6 weeks with shoulder complaint). It's a non starter.

Broad doesn't have the skills now.

Archer was the interesting one. Some suggestion in the last week that he could available for the world cup. Morgan rather played down his chances and suggested he'd have to play lions etc. That would be stupid imo although I'd imagine he was just looking after his current bunch of players.

Didn't Archer play u19s for WI?

If so he's years away from eligibility.

Researched it - England hasn't tried to 'fast track' him under the old rules. No sure thing - but if possible I'd try. Quality player England could do with.

Woakes can come back in for Wood post injury and all will be well. Bowling and fielding for England should be strictly about damage control.

said it all along - last world cup it was englands bowling that killed them. broad and anderson barely took a wicket between them. their combined average was astronomical iirc. they couldn't have defended 350 even if they got there.

the four best bowling attacks made the semis. maybe they can win the next world cup with the best batsmen, but they've always neglected the bowling.

It's not really neglected if they don't have the bowling options. (I doubt you actually mean neglected).

I mean they have tried specialists like Gurney or Dernbach but they were proven not to be anywhere near good enough. They are now more in the phase of the average bowlers who field and can bat well too (woakes, willey, plunkett) etc.

Yesterday they had the 5 bowlers but the default team is 6 bowlers. They might all be fairly average but at least with 6 frontish line bowlers (+ Root) they have a range of options and cover.

Teams will line up and shake hands before the game, after Morgan accepted Paine’s request to do so.

Clever trap from Paine.

I really hope that the England fans seize this opportunity.

I want lyrics sung that have me in hysterics. I want costumes and antics so funny that my ribs hurt.

I get the feeling it won't take much in the way of incisive lyrics to get you chuckling, but anyway, can you please provide some evidence to support your opinion?

What opinion, that England fans have an opportunity to take the mickey out of Australia?

Well there's an ODI cricket game on later today in the UK, (fact). And Australia used sandpaper on a ball to tamper with it in their last cricket series (tests in SA), fact. Ergo, England fans have an opportunity to make me laugh about this with song lyrics, costumes, banners, signs and antics.

Thus I request the England crowd take the mickey out of Australia for this - just like Langer has predicted.

This may not tickle your funny bone, but it tickles mine.

I will when I have received a satisfactory answer as to why DN cricket starts so early in a country where it stays light til about 10pm at this time of year anyway.
