All Time XI Tournament

Looking at jimmy101's predictions:

Australia - Yes, no contest.
England K - This one's pretty close. Prefer Aus K's bowling but Eng K's batting - maybe England K just have the edge overall.
Australia E - Agreed (though should be much closer than Aus v Pakistan B)
England B - Agreed
Sri Lanka - could be interesting, as SA B have the better bowlers. My pick for match of the week too.
India A - Yes, should be another easy win.
Zimbabwe - not sure about this one, Aus L have a pretty handy attack.
England A - I'd pick England A too, but wouldn't be shocked if this was the first upset of the tournament.

Sorry I've been a bit busy lately. I'll get all of the round 1 lineups up reasonably soon and then Prince EWS can SIM when he is free.

I am going to run a predictions league, just trying to work out what to do with drawn series as each series will be 3 matches.

At this stage I am going to ask for the winner (worth 2 points), the highest batting average (min. 100 runs), best bowling average (min. 5 wickets) and a random question for each series.

Victor Ian

International Coach
Yes. This is a brilliant culmination of all the work put into choosing a ton of teams. It will be a travesty if you don't win battle of posters for next year on the back of this alone.

NUFAN

So after chatting with Prince, if its a drawn series, there will be a fourth Test and if that Test is drawn or tied, the team with the first innings lead will progress.

I've decided to not do a predictions league - I think it might be too time consuming but feel free to tip who you think will win in the first round matches. Which is the most anticipated match up? Good to see an India vs Pakistan series.

Simming should start this week.

Match Day 2:
Pakistan (5) v Australia I: Easy win
Zimbabwe A v South Africa D: I think SA D should win this.
India E v England D: Another pretty comfortable win
India B v South Africa A (10): India B is a decent batting side but it'd be a big surprise if they win this.

Australia B (13) v West Indies G: Not close.
England F v Pakistan D: A bit more interesting, but I think England F should win this.
Australia G v England G: The closest of any of the matches on day 2.
England I v South Africa (4): No upsets here; England I is a decent side but no match for South Africa.

Match Day 3:
England v West Indies F: WI F's bowling isn't bad but this shouldn't be close.
West Indies D v South Africa C: Not an easy call; maybe SA C's batting gives them the edge.
New Zealand A v Bangladesh A: Should be comfortable.
England C v Australia C (16): There seem to be a few of these equal-level Eng-Aus match-ups, and they're all pretty tight - I'll predict the upset, but there's really not much in it.

India A (9) v Australia D: I'll go with the seeds on their batting and spin attack, but wouldn't be too surprised if it went the other way.
West Indies C v England E: Another tight one - I'll go with the WI C for the fear factor of their attack.
Sri Lanka A v Pakistan E: Think this should be fairly comfortable.
South Africa E v Australia A (6): Easy win for a powerful side

Match Day 4:
West Indies A v Sri Lanka B: Easy win for a strong side
England J v Australia F
New Zealand E v England H
Australia J v New Zealand (11): All these three look reasonably comfortable

West Indies B (15) v Australia H: Upset not impossible but WI B should be too strong
Bangladesh v New Zealand C: Could go either way
India D v Pakistan C: Also too close to call
New Zealand D v West Indies (2): Another easy win

Cricketer Of The Year
I may as well throw in my own predictions to go along with Andrew's before this tourney unfolds..

Pakistan XI (5)
v Australia I XI

Pakistan are going to rough these guys up.

Zimbabwe A XI v South Africa D XI

That's actually a pretty darn good Zimbabwe side, and I think they'll challenge RSA. I'm going to tip the upset (and probably regret it).

India E XI v England D XI

This one might be closer than people think. I'm a Nayudu fanboy, so I hope he tons up & takes a five-for. But I think England have this covered.

India B XI v South Africa A XI (10)

Chandra & Prasanna for the win. Yep, I'm tipping India.

Australia B XI v West Indies G XI

This mostly 'meh' Windies side will succumb to this quality Aussie lineup.

England F XI v Pakistan D XI

England have not only got this game in the bag, but they've put that bag into another larger bag.

Australia G XI v England G XI

That Aussie side is ok, but I'm thinking England here. I felt at the time of selection that England seemed to have more depth overall. Perhaps this will prove it?

England I XI v South Africa XI (4)

Goodnight, Mr Subba Row.

England XI v West Indies F XI

To quote a Geoff Boycott soundbite from that Shane Warne/Brian Lara cricket game "West Indies F are going to have a tough task ahead of them if they're going to get anything out if this match."

West Indies D XI v South Africa C XI

Oh man, I love both these teams. My head says RSA but I'm going to tip WI just for the hell of it.

New Zealand A XI v Bangladesh A XI

Can't really see this Bangers team (essentially stripped of all the big guns) pipping this kiwi side.

England C XI v Australia C XI (16)

So tough, so tough. The Aussies seem to have better batting, but that Eng C bowling lineup is ***y. England C to win the match of the day.

India A XI (9) v Australia D XI

For all the talent present in India A, I think the Aussies have them covered. Proabably partially my fault, I know Sidhu's selection in the A team got alot of hate at the time.

West Indies C XI v England E XI

Sylvers should get WI over the line here.

Sri Lanka A XI v Pakistan E XI

A lot of people would probably go for SL A here, but I don't think it's as straight-forward as it looks. I'm going to tip Sri Lanka, but only just.

South Africa E XI v Australia A XI (6)

Lots of my personal favourites are represented in RSA E, it will be a shame to see them feature only once.

West Indies A XI v Sri Lanka B XI

This could be painful to watch.

England J XI v Australia F XI

Oh god, so many ***** in that Aussie team. Slater, Watson, Haddin, Lee. I doubt they can do it, but I hope England win this.

New Zealand E XI v England H XI

Can't see England losing here. Should be a close match though.

Australia J XI v New Zealand XI (11)

You can never count Australian teams out, but I think the kiwis might turn their little bottoms purple.

West Indies B XI (15) v Australia H XI

I really like that Windies attack. Bishop, Hall, Constantine & Croft. Multiple era coming together in one team. Windies FTW.

Bangladesh XI v New Zealand C XI

This match will test Bangladesh's mettle, but I suspect they have the formula for success.

India D XI v Pakistan C XI

BIG MATCH. I'm actually liking that Indian team better and will back them to win.

New Zealand D XI v West Indies XI (2)

I expect the Windies to start this tournament off with a warm-up blackwash. It will be a black day for the black caps.

If I've understood the draw correctly, West Indies might have to play West Indies B in the last 16 and West Indies A in the quarter-final (and possibly, though much less likely, West Indies C in the semis).

Lies, we finished that season eventually. What you're waiting for is Round 1 of the following season that you signed up for. :p

But yeah NUFAN was aware I was going to be away for a bit at a conference, and then I had a funeral right after that. Back home now though and keen to get this on the road this week.
