I suppose it could have been worse, but it would be nice if one of our batters could make the most of a start.

Not England's day completely at all. Pakistan will bounce back in day 2.

I bet India can't wait to rip open England by the seems.

Always support 2 teams, yours, and whoever is playing against England!

Still can’t understand why you bat first on a fresh pitch in early English summer with 3 of the top 5 having 6 tests between them a real opportunity missed I reckon

I suppose they thought it would be sunny throughout the day. (Probably also misread the pitch.).
I think some rain was forecast for days two and three; that must have played a part in persuading them to bat first.

The weather's been pretty unpredictable in Europe in the last few years hasn't it? Maybe we should move the World Cup to a better place like South Africa. What's the weather like there in June?

Veering between hot, sun-bathing style weather, and torrential rain within the space of a few seconds!

Generally though it has been a very mild April-May. I've never seen so much live cricket for this time of year.

I've said more or less the same thing to an England fan before when upset about his conversion rate vs KW, Schmidty and Virat.

I don't care if KW never gets within coohey of Steve Smith in tests for average or conversion rate, I still love watching KW bat for NZ and achieving.

For that matter, if I were English, I'd be celebrating Cook just like I celebrate Ross Taylor.
