*****, being a fan of the odious Hell's Kitchen, you'll be pleased to know that noted ****wit Gordon Ramsey is on Masterchef this week. If it isn't blocked by the totalitarian regime you live under, you should watch it. Would do you good.

Is he going to be hurling profane abuse at the contestants?

If not, I'm not interested.

Nice to see you enjoying the finer cuisines around the world.

Off to Taiwan tomorrow morning for the weekend. The goal of the trip isn't the food but the food should be good and pics will be shared.

You may think I'm being a smart ass, but I'm not. If you goto Taiwan, try and find genuine General Tso chicken. Have it a few times and compare.

In NZ its nigh impossible to find despite it being ubiquitous in USA. In NZ the best I have found is dry - but that isn't necessarily how it should be in Taiwan (where the sauce matters as much as the spice according to a documentary I watched).

What I have found dry in NZ is still and nevertheless a taste treat, but I more than suspect it could be better if more authentic with sauce.

Just had the best egg/custard tarts in the world at Pasteis de Belem. Most of the other places in portugal sell sub par ones that are way too sweet and not crispy.

Had some great ones in HK as well but this was something else.

Best ones are across over at Macau tbh. Award winning Egg tarts.

No doubt the Portuguese ones are pretty good too. Whereas the Australian ones are probably repulsive.

Taiwan's been good ftr. Really enjoying the hot springs. Have eaten some good food tho, will share pics when back home.

Idk about awards but Pasteis de Belem is where they originated from before being poorly copied in most places across the globe. I've had the one in Macau and it was brilliant as well but it's really not a contest.
