That is why it was just very poor captaincy; no one is accusing Kane of trying to throw the game.
Well you have the benefit of hindsight - and even then you do not know whether Sandeep would have gone for more than 20.

I would have bowled Braithwaite over Sandeep too. So I must be a very poor fan then. ;)

Where I do differ from KW, is I would have bowled out BK by bowling him that over, or the next.

But in limited overs games, I have seen enough of KW defending scores to have no doubts in his captaincy abilities as being top draw.

He is a smart captain. He is a smart cricketer. He is a reasonably intelligent guy. Listen to him speak. He makes reasoned decisions with field and bowler selection, he doesn't just take a punt. But the bowlers still need to execute.

And funnily enough - he thought his batsman were 20 runs short of par. He didn't blame his bowlers in the least. I think he is more keen on having sterner words to Pandey and co.

Here's Kane Williamson as well. "Trip to Kolkata now," Williamson said. "We were too short with the bat, and it was actually a decent surface. We would've wanted 20 more. The game did swing our way, and bowlers were outstanding, but we didn't quite execute it like in the past. Hopefully we can cross the line in Kolkata and come back here. We do back our death bowlers, but it wasn't to be today. Credit to CSK's lower order. It's important that we learn from this and take it to our next match. Faf played a beautiful knock, and credit to the way they scrapped it. We got a bit of hard work to do, but we'll do it one over at a time."

Question for IPL experts,

At the last IPL auction, were they all 3 year deals.

Specifically, is KW locked into the SRH for the next two years? Or is he able to fetch a higher price next year?

Further, Sodhi was not sold at the auction, but picked up later, so is he locked into 3 years at his low base figure, or will he at the auction next year?

Mr. Glass
It just makes sense to prepare promos in advance for all possibilities. Maybe one just leaked. But no, lets go with fixing.

Can't have been too many occasions where teams have opted to only go with 3 overseas players?

Great that Pandey has been dropped, not saying he is a bad batsman, but its just that he doesn't fit this lineup.

Spinners paradise. SRH got this with Rashid and Shakib
Chawla, Narine and Kuldeep have 9 overs left amongst them, think SRH is the team in trouble right now. This is the reason you need two explosive openers at the start who can unsettle the opposition. Dhawan got some excellent deliveries by Mavi, but Saha as an opener is just too limited.
