Injuries. I think he's just got back into bowling this month.

In a word: injuries.

Guy hasn't been able to stay fit since the 2015 World Cup, and on the rare occasions that he's made it onto the park he's looked a shadow of the player he was. Can't write him off completely, but part of me thinks he'd be better off giving up on his bowling and work on developing his batting because he is very talented.

Yeah he was sidelined with a back stress fracture in late July and underwent an operation in September. Only just started bowling again this month.

I don't grudge him taking up the T20 league offers while they come, but given he's just got back from injury I'm really surprised Vettori brought him in to the RCB setup. Just can't see him clicking in the ruthless IPL environment at least in this edition.

Unfortunately with NZC struggling to even organise worthwhile international matches I don't know if Anderson can look to them for support. Do agree he should focus on his batting, talented enough for sure.

I think Slippy meant "one of the top T20 cricketers" rather than "one of the top 20 cricketers"
