Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

I know it looks like he's having fun, but you cannot begin to fathom the kind of pressure Sachin was under during that game of gulli cricket.
True. The poor guy is playing at night and you still hear 'sachiiiiiin'. So much pressure. Playing to a stacked leg side field as well. No runs there.

If any of those guys managed to dismiss Sachin I guarantee you there would be an IPL contract waiting for them the next week.

What! Talkshite has taken the rights for England's away tours from TMS. What bollocks is that? Talkshite is absolute garbage.

These are decisions taken by the Sri Lankan and West Indies Boards.
They lead a hand to mouth existence, and went for who ever promised to pay them more. Why should they be obliged to do anything else?

Because the coverage will be absolute garbage, Alan Brazil, Adrian Durham and the Two Mikes anchoring, probably Darren Gough commentating, endless adverts for betting companies and DIY products between overs. Talkshite are of the ilk of The Sun and Daily Sport, really tacky and football obsessed.

If I could create an analogy for this, Talksport taking the rights from TMS is the equivalent of the Daily Sport taking over the Wisden Almanac. ''Daily Sport's Cricket Almanac'', with boobs and adverts for Ronseal Paint and endless betting companies. ''5 footballers of the year''.

And I wouldn't even say TMS is at its best right now post Allott, Johnston, with major irritants like Swann and Tuffers floating in.

This argument has some merit if, and only if, a reasonably large number of Sri Lankan and/or West Indian cricket fans follow live cricket on the radio.
I'm not sure that that is the case.

They're not the ones who'll have to listen to the thing. We are!

I'm also quite sad that TMS won't be covering this. For all I know, this Talksport may not even be available world wide.

My point is that the
Sri Lankan and West Indies Boards have no obligation to incur a loss in income for our benefit.

I'd happily buy that version of wisden

Talkshite shouldn't have been bidding as they are **** and know they are **** - and anyhow, are obsessed with football.

I believe Talksport is also talking to the South Africans.
May be they have developed a sudden passion for cricket.

Talksport already do the IPL I believe; I never follow the IPL but that is what I've been told. Apparently they did a few England ODI awhile back also.

Genuinely think you watch the IPL and listen to talksport a lot more than you let on!
You have to go many years to find the last time I watched IPL. I gave it a go back when Warne was playing and decided I'd rather shove knitting needles into my eyes than watch any further. I look at the scores to see how Stokes is doing, which does not appear to be very well.

Yes I've listened to Talkshite in a sort of morbid ''car crash'' way. I usually stick it on when England (football) are unceremoniously dumped out of the Euros/WC which happens biannually. It is amusing to listen to irate fans rip the manager and players to shreds. (Scouser accent) ''...overpaid millionaires who have no pride in the badge. The coach was clueless playing a 442 instead of a 433, playing Gerrard in a holding role'' blah blah. It is strangely amusing.

Oh and I do listen to Gough's cricket show via podcast.
