Supposedly he has had a career threatening injury. What is the story with Parnell btw? Has he just given up?
Interesting reading that Prince changed Malans setup before the season started, Malan attributes lots of his success this year to those changes.... good quality coaches and ex players of experience are worth their weight in gold.TITANS AWARDS

Actual coaching is more important at this level than at international level. It's more about bouncing ideas internationally really and getting mentally confident and intune.Interesting reading that Prince changed Malans setup before the season started, Malan attributes lots of his success this year to those changes.... good quality coaches and ex players of experience are worth their weight in gold.
Any reason why Makwetu would choose to throw his lot in with the Titans instead of the Lions?Actual coaching is more important at this level than at international level. It's more about bouncing ideas internationally really and getting mentally confident and intune.
We will still have 3 ex-Proteas coaching domestically next season in Boucher, Prince and Boje.
Grant Morgan didn't play internationally but has been rated for some time through SA u19s, Gauteng and KZN cricket and doing a fair job at the Dolphins.
Rivash Gobind is new and he seemed to get the Warriors playing to high levels which is a good early sign. In many articles I read he seemed to want to back new talent and the Warriors did that with Breetzke , Sipamla and Qeshile under him who were all teenagers. Due to 5 'white players' he also made the tough choice in picking Nortje over Birch.
Things don't look good at the Lions. Toyana and Parsons are set to leave will be interesting who gets that job.
Probably quite a few reasons. Lets not forget this is a union known for losing young talent but also producing it.Any reason why Makwetu would choose to throw his lot in with the Titans instead of the Lions?
Facilities @ LC de Villiers are spectacular...Probably quite a few reasons. Lets not forget this is a union known for losing young talent but also producing it.
Titans bring
1) Stability
2) The pathway at Titans cricket (high performance)
3) The coaches
4) Winning mentality
Tuks University have now got the following players from outside the Union (They are in partnership with Northerns and Titans)
You may not know all of them but they played for SA u19s in the last few years
1) Lungi Ngidi (KZN)
2) Tony de Zorzi (Gauteng)
3) Jiveshan Pillay (KZN)
4) Mitchell van Buuren (Gauteng)
5) Wandile Makwetu (Gauteng)
6) Curtis Campher (Gauteng)
* Notice the losses Gauteng & Lions cricket are making ?
Let's not forget they have a history of this happening : Graeme Smith, Neil McKenzie, Zander de Bruyn, Chris Morris, Quinton de Kock, Dane Vilas, Andrew Hall, Tabraiz Shamsi, Devon Conway & looks like Rickelton will be left all alone with his fellow SA u19 batsmen Janneman Malan, Grant Roelofsen, Marques Ackerman going elsewhere.
At the same time the Northerns are producing them selves and for the Titans and other unions
1) Theunis de Bruyn
2) Aiden Markram
3) Heinrich Klaasen
4) Rivaldo Moonsamy
5) Corbin Bosch
6) Migael Pretorius
7) Eldred Hawken
8) Junior Dala
9) Shaun von Berg
10) Ruben Trumpelmann
11) Thomas Kaber
12) Ruben Hermann
(Outside of AB, Faf, Steyn, Kuhn, Morris, Morkel's, Wiese)
For other unions
1) Janneman Malan (North West seemingly heading for the Knights)
2) Leus du Plooy (Knights)
3) Duanne Olivier (Knights)
4) Marchant de Lange (Knights)
4) Rassie van der Dussen (Lions)
6) Mangalso Mosehle (Lions)
7) Aaron Phangiso (Lions)
8) Hardus Viljoen (Lions)
9) Simon Harmer (Warriors)
10) Pieter Malan (Cobras)
11) Beyers Swanepoel (Free State)
See new thread... but yes.Darren Lehmann is out?
Was in Ireland and New Zealand. Sure he tried to qualify for NZL but he couldn't go through with it. It is a surprise he went to SWD but for the reasons you mentioned I don't think he has a professional future in SA.Not sure the metrics, but SWD's Facebook page appeared on my feed yesterday. Mentioned their A club final being won by Obus Pienaar's side and their 2nd division promotion being won by Mark Vermeulen (the ex-Zimbabwe batsman/nutcase). Surprising Pienaar can't get any franchise game time, although with SWD under Cobras, there's more competition. Also surprising Vermeulen isn't at least turning out for SWD, given how weak their side is (the best SWD-area players produced of late are playing for Knights and Warriors now...).
Yeah, that is who I was talking about above. Also, wasn't Obus Pienaar also trying to make it in NZ?
Sorry, thought you were talking about Vermeulen.Yeah, that is who I was talking about above.
Came back last winter it looks like. Obviously felt it wasn't for him. New Zealand is riddled with SA cricketers at the moment. It was more than I expected. The only team that doesn't have is Northern Districts otherwise there is young and old at the others.
